NOTE: As a result of the rebuild, we are unable to update the new arrivals photos section of this website and we apologise for this - the new site will be much more user friendly and so we do believe this 'glitch' will be worthwhile. Quiz Night
We have just finalised the details for a fantastic Quiz Night that is being held in The Cheshire Cat in Torviscas (underneath the old market place) on Saturday 02nd August 2008. It is a late start, at 10.30pm, however we have the great John Sharples (of award winning Bitter and Twisted fame) as our Quiz Master and a number of other surprise guests during the evening. Entry to the Quiz is only 1 EURO each with Teams of up to 4 people. Contact stephen@k9tenerife.com for more details or to donate a prize for this event.
Car Boot Sale
Don't forget that Refugio de Animales de Tenerife K9 and San Francisco are holding their next Car Boot Sale at Pleasure Island in Las Americas on Sunday, 3rd August 2008 from 8.00am until midday.

Who Are K9?
K9 is a British-run Animal Refuge based in the South of Tenerife, founded over fifteen years ago by a handful of concerned Ex-Pat’s, we continue to rescue as many of the Island’s unwanted, sick and abused animals as possible.
Our organisation is run by a committee of sixteen volunteers, headed by our Lady President; Elsie Clinton-Leslie, who as a founder member some thirteen years ago, wished to address the enormous number of stray dogs roaming the Island in packs and the thousands of feral cats.
She and two of her friends began simply; by taking in strays to their own homes before finding them alternative, safe and permanent accommodation in loving, family environments.
From these humble beginnings ‘Refugio de los Animales, K9’ was born. Last year alone, successfully rescuing and re-homing 
450 adult dogs, ninety puppies and over a hundred cats and kittens
We are a recognised, non profit, registered charity that receives no funding from any government body or generous overseas benefactor surviving instead upon our own fund-raising activities, such as; collection-boxes in local bars and businesses, monthly car-boot sales, weekly market book-swaps, occasional charity auctions and marketing initiatives
We currently occupy a rented, custom-built Kennel that will comfortably accommodate fifty-five to sixty dogs, though we never have less than seventy on any given day. At times we have also had up to twelve cats and kittens, though it is not an ideal environment for them, being primarily a dog kennel, and they are forced to be kept in cages in the storage areas.
Our good friends “Live Arico”, one of the Island’s other refuges was evicted within the space of a couple of weeks in 2006 and so it is desperately important that we buy the kennels and the land on which they stand; we need help to complete this project.
